On getting screwed over by Citi
About 3 years ago I opened up a brokerage account with Smith Barney, which had just been acquired by Citi, and bought some stock using their online trading system. Today I wanted to sell this stock but found myself unable to do so online. After making several calls to various people at Citi, I discovered that to save costs they had recently decided to create a new account and move all my holdings into it. Incredibly, however, they have not yet enabled online trading for the new account so I am unable to actually use it! WTF, Citi?
